In several countries in Southeast Asia, cat meat is consumed because it is considered a source of strength.

But in Vietnam, the meat of this cute animal is believed to ward off bad luck and increase libido.

A cat rescuer named Quyen recorded a video of the cat trade in Ho Chi Minh last month.

He deliberately wanted to show the world about this unusual trade which still occurs because of myth.

In the viral video, it appears that many cats are afraid that they will be killed and skinned for their meat.

Some of the cats in the video even wear collars indicating that they were once pets before they were stolen.

Michele Brown, CEO of Fight Dog Meat, shared the video.

"Cats are the forgotten victims of the dog meat trade," he wrote in the caption.

"The dog meat trade has recently attracted attention, but cats are barely discussed," he added.cat meat is considered a culinary delicacy.

There are even special restaurants serving this menu which are reportedly booming, with profits of around £ 57 (Rp. 1 million).

Brown also said several people in Vietnam have died from eating cat meat, which likely came from stray cats.
