The official teaser for Netflix’s Parasyte:
The Grey unveils first look at live-action series adaptation, which will center around a new story.Netflix’s Parasyte: The Grey has received its first teaser trailer, providing viewers a glimpse of the South Korean series adaptation of the hit sci-fi horror manga and anime.
The video begins with a group of people who have seemingly been taken over by alien parasites planning to dominate all humankind on Earth for power and survival.
The teaser also introduced Jeon So-nee’s character Su-in, a young woman grappling with her new reality of coexisting with a parasite.
However, unlike the others, Su-in was able to retain her humanity, making her one of the few ones that can stop the parasitic life-forms’ invasion plans.
It also highlights the action-packed fight sequences we should expect to see from the adaptation.
Parasyte: The Grey is a live-action series based on Hitoshi Iwaaki’s sci-fi horror manga of the same name, which was published from 1989 to 1994 by Kodansha.
In a statement addressing the Netflix adaptation, Iwaaki confirmed that the upcoming show will be telling an entirely new story in a different location separate from the original, which will bring fans "into a world beyond my [his] imagination."
The project hails from Train to Busan director Yeon Sang-ho, who has been attached to direct and produce since August 2022.
This marks Yeon’s latest collaboration with Netflix, since Hellbound and The Bequeathed.Platform(s)
